OAKTOWN PICTURES presents

   WEST OAKLAND MATTERS:

            targeted June 2024

One of Oakland's most historically vibrant communities is partnering with Oaktown Pictures to create a special Arts & Advocacy Event centered on West Oakland's residential history and Oakland artists.

In development now for a June opening, the collaboration features visual artists,  journalists, and neighborhood residents highlighting challenges and creativity amidst West Oakland's resistance and resilience versus economic and environmental crisis.

OPEN STUDIOS JUNE 1, 2 and 8,9

         at GRAY LOFT GALLERY

One of the East Bay's perennially top-rated art galleries is hosting various artists in the 2024 Summer Open Studios event

organized by Oakland Art Murmur.

In this bi-annual show-for-sale, my available works include monochrome landscapes on paper, high-color street art on metal,

and a range of abstractions in color and monochrome

transforming surroundings into singular unexpected graphics.

THEMED EDITION NOTECARDS.

Individual cards highlight “alt-Oakland”—a place as unseen as Oaklanders themselves. They feature the vernacular of the town’s inhabitants, as opposed to images of the media, civic institutions, or business districts. The urban landscapes are at once emerging and short-lived, morphing and metaphorical, ephemeral and poignant. The pictures also hold these manmade artifacts in rigorous compositions with a high priority on color. Each pack of 5.5-inch by 4.2-inch notecards includes four or more images in a theme. Individual images are also available in bulk quantity as a print-to-order request.
